Outdoor Retailer attendees and exhibitors are asked to
“Give Back” and get a collectable patch

San Juan Capistrano, CA – June 9, 2016 – Outdoor Retailer and the Outdoor Foundation are pleased to announce that they are partnering to execute a Give Back program to fund kids getting outdoors to visit their local national park. This effort will connect 35,000 youth to the outdoors – growing participation and business.

When registering for Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2016, attendees and exhibitors are asked, within the Outdoor Retailer show online registration process, to make a pledge to fund one child’s effort to get to a park -- offsetting attendees ‘indoor’ time during the show. Pledge dollars will go to fund regional projects across the country that have submitted their need for support through the Outdoor Foundation’s Parks4Kids website.

For a $15 pledge, to fund national park visits, you will receive a commemorative, originally designed Outdoor Retailer Summer Market patch featuring limited edition artwork from famed outdoor industry notable and 2015 Outdoor Inspiration award winner, Jeremy Collins. Collins is a climber, artist, and activist. He is an artist that defies genre, from the cover of National Geographic, to the Ansel Adams Gallery, to award winning "soul-adventure" films, to first ascent climbs all over the world. Through his work, both in climbing and art, he encourages everyone to do great things for others and the planet around. All pledge amounts are encouraged and welcomed.

Participants will also be invited to a  Give Back Badge invitation-only happy hour at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, and receive a 15% discount to the Outsiders Ball, held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Gallivan Center starting at 6:00 p.m., just prior to Outdoor Retailer. Attendees who did not make the pledge during the registration process can join the industry in the effort by purchasing a Give Back Badge on show site at a designated location in the convention center lobby, or at the Outdoor Foundation + Outdoor Industry Association booth #BRL200.

“A community gathering like Outdoor Retailer is the perfect place to champion the cause of getting youth out to explore their national parks and public lands,” said Marisa Nicholson, VP and Show Director. “By adding a link to the Outdoor Retailer registration page to encourage industry participation,  we are not only able to support the efforts and noble work of the Outdoor Foundation, but provide an easy, effortless way for the industry to get involved with the program and the mission to get kids outside.”
