SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (January 6, 2016) – Outdoor Retailer, the largest outdoor gear, apparel, accessories and technology tradeshow, today announced it will host Get Outdoors–NYC, its first consumer media event in New York City, June 8 – 9, 2016. This event presents outdoor apparel, gear and footwear brands’ Fall 2016 lines to non-endemic consumer media from print and online outlets, blogs and broadcast. The first annual event will take place at the Metropolitan West, 125 West 18th Street, New York City.

“This media event is included in a cycle of events geared at providing value and support to outdoor industry brands,” said Marisa Nicholson, vice president of Outdoor Retailer. “We are bringing the best of Outdoor Retailer to New York City, the mecca of mainstream consumer media. Get Outdoors-NYC targets smaller to mid-level companies and provides them with an opportunity to meet with editors and influential bloggers from respected outlets such as Glamour, Men’s Health, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Refinery29, among others. For companies that don’t have funds to host this kind of event on their own, or need additional options to meet with consumer media between shows, this is an excellent chance to engage with consumer media at a reasonable cost. More editors are paying attention to what our community has to offer, not only relating to style, but also, to fitness, technology, health and well-being, which makes the outdoor industry a perfect place to turn to for trend and consumer stories.”

Outdoor Retailer will accommodate 35 companies in 10x10 spaces at the cost of $4,500 for two days. In addition to the space, the fee covers tables, chairs, basic furnishings and food and beverage during event hours including lunch and snacks. Brands will also receive accommodations at a discounted rate. Lastly, Outdoor Retailer will deliver a robust media list with complete contact information to attending brands.
