Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards Entry Window Now Open
Third annual awards return to Outdoor + Snow Show this January
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California – (September 1, 2020) – Outdoor Retailer will host the third annual Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards this upcoming January during Outdoor + Snow Show. The submission period is now open for the awards recognizing products, materials, retail services, and stores pioneering new technologies and establishing solutions for the outdoor and snowsports industries. Winners will be unveiled in a live ceremony during the winter show on Thursday, January 28, 2021.
The submission period for products and services eligible for entry is now open and runs through November 4, 2020. Entry categories cover the full range of outdoor and snowsports products from across all seasons and include specialty retail operations and support services: Accessories, Apparel, Backpacks / Bags / Luggage, Cycling, Books / Electronic Applications / Electronics, Camping, Climbing, Consumables, Footwear, Materials, Retail, Support Services, Sleeping, Water Sports, and Winter Sports. “Each year the Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards prove the outdoor and snow industries continue to break ground and set new standards to improve the outdoor experience,” said Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer senior vice president and show director. “Innovation is what keeps us moving forward, and we’re excited to enter this third year of recognizing the brands and retail stores making an impact and finding new ways to connect people to the outdoors.”
Both finalists and winners will be determined by a panel of expert judges. After finalists are announced in December, winners will be unveiled during a live awards ceremony at the end of the second day of Outdoor + Snow Show on Thursday, January 28, 2021. The ceremony is open to all registered attendees and media.
Entries are submitted online and evaluated by the judging panel based on the themes of Spark, Desire, Function, and Impact. Judges will consider a variety of factors during the evaluation of all entries, including concept, sustainability, originality, design, and what makes the product or service innovative. All finalists will be on display for show attendees in the Innovation Gallery during Outdoor + Snow Show, and the judges will select winners from the pool of finalists.
