ANNUAL OUTDOOR RETAILER INNOVATION AWARDS ENTRY WINDOW NOW OPEN
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California – (August 31, 2022) – The entry window for the fifth annual Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards is now open. Recognizing innovative new products, materials, and retail programs, the Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards celebrate the gear and services that are improving the outdoor experience. This year’s awards will take place during Outdoor Retailer Snow Show in January where the winners will be unveiled at a live ceremony on, Tuesday, January 11, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and all finalist products will be on display throughout Snow Show from January 10-12, 2023.
The submission period for eligible new products and retail services is open now through November 2, 2022. Entry categories cover the full range of outdoor and snowsports products from any season and include specialty retail operations and support services: Accessories, Apparel, Backpacks / Bags / Luggage, Cycling, Books / Electronic Applications / Electronics, Camping, Climbing, Consumables, Footwear, Materials, Retail, Support Services, Sleeping, Water Sports, and Winter Sports. “The outdoor and winter sports industries are consistently innovating, testing, experimenting, and bringing concepts to life that both fulfill a need and encourage more people to get outside,” said Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer senior vice president and show director. “We’re excited to celebrate these new products and the people behind them at the annual Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards during Snow Show in January. The ceremony always leaves us inspired by the creative solutions changing the way people experience the outdoors.”
All entries will be evaluated by an independent judging panel and the panel determines both the finalists and winners. The judges score submitted products, materials, and services based on the themes of Spark, Desire, Function, and Impact, and consider a variety of factors, including concept, originality, design, sustainability, and overall innovation.
The finalists will be announced in December and on display in the Innovation Gallery on the show floor at Outdoor Retailer Snow Show this January 10-12, 2023, taking place at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Winners will be selected from the finalists and unveiled during a live, in-person awards ceremony held in the Hyatt Regency ballroom on the first night of Snow Show.
