OUTDOOR RETAILER RELEASES INITIAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR SUMMER 2024 SHOW
Outdoor Retailer, the premier business event for the outdoor industry, announced the initial lineup of education sessions in advance of the Summer 2024 show. Filled with panel discussions and conversations led by industry experts, the sessions will cover retail insights, marketing strategy, outdoor access, sustainability, design trends, and more. This summer’s programming will cover four stages between Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Design + Innovation, which runs June 17-19, 2024, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
All education takes place on the show floor and will be accessible to all attendees and exhibitors. Familiar show zones will be home to daily programming, and Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) will host sessions on each stage.
- The Camp sessions focus on insight, new technologies, and strategies to support outdoor businesses. Topics currently scheduled include retail sales trends from Circana; participation data from OIA; a look at the media landscape; the power of AI; shipping logistics and innovation; and more.
- The Ranger Station features conversations and workshops around the ideas and advocacy efforts important to the outdoor community. Sessions will discuss allyship; access and equity with the Trust for Public Land; sustainable innovation; and more, plus feature in-person recordings of THE ROCK FIGHT Podcast and GearJunkie Podcast.
- The Trend + Design Center, located in Outdoor Design + Innovation, will provide product developers with the latest trend insight from FS, WGSN, Coloro, and more, as well as the latest on PFAS policy, supply chain, and circularity.
- The Overland Experience space will host campfire-style conversation on connecting with the overlanding audience from Overland Journal; the popular Gear Guide roundup of new products; and more.
The education schedule is available at outdoorretailer.com and will continue to grow leading up to the show. Networking events, happy hours, and additional events in each space will also provide opportunities for the industry to connect and learn from one another.
This year’s Outdoor Retailer Innovation Awards will also be held on the show floor. The awards program showcases cutting-edge products, materials, and retail services from across all seasons that are pushing the industry forward and improving the outdoor experience. A reception to celebrate the winners will be held in The Ranger Station on June 18 from 4:30-6 p.m. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, April 24.
