We’re grateful for the knowledge and encouragement you continually share with the industry, and thankful to have been able to serve you and the outdoor community for the past 40 years.
Now, as we approach our return to Salt Lake, we’re excited to evolve and provide a fresh format to enhance the Outdoor Retailer experience for you.
Starting next year, we’re shifting dates, launching a new leadership conference, and creating unique new opportunities to engage with each other, as well as directly with consumers. This transformation is because of your feedback – business has changed in today’s $862 billion outdoor industry and you’re working on earlier product deadlines. So, we want to make sure we’re providing you with the most relevant and efficient platform to be successful.
Here’s a look at what’s ahead:
—January 2023: Snow Show is at the Salt Place from January 10-12, plus The Summit by Outdoor Retailer on-mountain experience is January 9 at Brighton Resort.
—June 2023: The Outdoor Retailer Summer is back at the Salt Palace from June 19-21 for commerce and community at the front of the summer buying season, with the new Outdoor Adventure X consumer festival happening the weekend prior, June 17-18, at Snowbasin Resort, Pineview Reservoir and Anderson Cove Campground in Utah.
—Starting November 2023: Our winter commerce event rebrands as Outdoor Retailer Winter and moves to early November to kick off the seasonal sales cycle – November 14-16 at the Salt Palace.
—Launching January 2024: The Summit by Outdoor Retailer expands into new multi-day leadership conference in Salt Lake alongside the immersive on-mountain winter experience held in late January, and it will align with Winter Sports Market.

Outdoor Retailer Winter and Summer are now both at the beginning of the respective sales seasons and in position to support the greater buy/sell ecosystem. The Summit by Outdoor Retailer will provide dedicated days for elevated education and conversation, with an expanded demo experience. Plus, a renewed partnership with Winter Sports Market, the specialty buying group trade event from Snowsports Merchandising Corporation (SMC) and Sports Specialists Ltd. (SSL), facilitates a more streamlined industry calendar.
And, with the work of incredible partners, next summer will offer the ultimate B2B2C experience when Outdoor Retailer and Outdoor Adventure X offer a week of engagement, outdoor activities, and commerce.
