Thrive, Don’t Strive

We’re excited to begin the new Outdoor Retailer show cycle, starting this November with Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Denver. Winter Market and Summer Market will become the industry’s largest launch events for the outdoor seasons, and Snow Show will put the products influencing the whole mountain experience all under one roof.

The new schedule moves Winter Market and Summer Market to the front of the buying seasons – November and June. They’re positioned to serve the marketplace’s buying and selling cycles, to serve companies’ needs, and in the timeframe that the cycle really begins. This is when new products are being introduced and brands are coming out of sales meetings ready to roll.

Here’s a video that offers a look and listen at the cadence of the new show cycle. Or download this timeline and share it with your team.

Serving the Specialty Market
The shows are also positioned for efficiency. Winter Market has been strategically curated around innovation and the top brands serving the specialty market. We know everyone is pressed for time, energy, and resources, and our research showed the need to move to a timeframe that better serves the marketplace. With the new dates, the Outdoor Retailer shows become the best place to get a head start on the season and to see the most brands and retailers all in the same place.

So, how can this cycle help your business?

See the Breadth of the Industry
Placing the shows at the front of the selling cycle means buyers get a high-level view of what’s available from the entire industry prior to hitting deadlines. This allows retailers to buy smart – they’re more educated on what’s available before placing orders. It saves time, and purchasing confidence goes way up!

Make Accurate Forecasting Decisions, Less Discounting
As a result, brands can make more accurate forecasting decisions. They can reduce the amount of product created that ultimately won’t be supported by retailers and may end up on closeout or going through discount channels. Retailers can also benefit from having less competition from product in discount channels.

Identify Trends in Real-Time
A more efficient buying and selling process translates into having the ability to identify trends in stores as they’re happening. Retailers see the products at the shows on the front end of the season, providing key points of understanding as to what’s coming out the next year. Back in stores, consumer interest in products can be monitored to help further refine orders before placing them.

All of these perks combine to make the show experience efficient and cost effective. See more people in a span of just four days! And, we’ll all be in Denver together.

We know there are still questions. Are you a retailer? Reach out to our Retail Relations team and they can provide guidance. Do you work for a brand? All of our Account Executives are ready with everything you need. Don’t hesitate to contact any member of our team with any inquiry you may have.

Outdoor Retailer’s goal is to help your business thrive. We have a responsibility to create a platform that allows you to reach your commercial goals, help you build consumer confidence and become more resilient. The $887 billion outdoor recreation industry is growing, and we want to see you grow with it.

The Outdoor Retailer shows – Winter Market in November, Snow Show in January and Summer Market in June – are built to help you succeed. Each is a place for discovery, inspiration, collaboration and innovation. They’re a time to come together and make meaningful connections, support each other and have conversations on topics so important in our industry. And, now is the perfect time get the new show dates on your calendar.

Thank you for your ongoing support and feedback. We’re looking forward to kicking off the new cycle in November and to seeing you on the show floor!
